Connect Candly to Claude and ChatGPT
Last updated: August 12, 2026
What this does
Candly runs a remote MCP server — the open standard assistants use to reach outside tools. Connect it once and you can ask Claude or ChatGPT things like "which invoices are overdue?" or "add a delivery deadline to the GlowCo deal for Friday", and get answers from your real account instead of a copy you pasted in.
It is included in the Candly plan at no extra cost. You need a Candly account, and an assistant that supports custom connectors.
Set it up
Candly's server URL
https://candly.io/api/mcpSetup steps
claude.ai and the Claude desktop app, on any plan.
- 1Open claude.ai/customize/connectors — or Settings, then Connectors under Customize.
- 2Open the "Add" menu and choose "Add custom connector".
- 3Give it a name, paste the server URL above, and click Add.
- 4Click "Connect" on the new Candly connector and approve access when Candly asks.
The first time Claude uses each Candly tool it will ask your permission — that is Claude checking with you, not Candly. On Team and Enterprise an owner adds the connector once at claude.ai/admin-settings/connectors; everyone else then just clicks Connect.
Then check it worked
Once the connector says it is connected, ask the assistant this. It should answer from your real account.
Using Candly, list my brand deals and tell me which invoices are overdue. What you're approving
When you connect an assistant, Candly shows you a consent screen listing exactly what it is asking for. Nothing is shared before you approve it, and an assistant only ever gets the permissions on that screen:
mcp:readView your deals, brands, tasks, invoices and portfolio — everything you can see on your dashboard.projects:writeCreate and change deals, tasks, deliverables, brands and notes.invoices:writeCreate and change invoices, including marking them paid.portfolio:writeChange your portfolio, including publishing or unpublishing your public page.
Candly never deletes anything on an assistant's say-so. There is no delete tool of any kind, so the worst a mistaken instruction can do is create or change a record you can then fix. An assistant also cannot post to your social accounts, read your email, or see another creator's data.
Disconnecting
Go to Settings → Integrations and use Disconnect under AI assistants. It takes effect immediately: the assistant's access stops working on its very next request, and it cannot renew it. Nothing in your Candly account is deleted, and you can reconnect the same assistant later by setting it up again.
Deleting your Candly account disconnects every assistant automatically.
If it doesn't work
- "Not found" or the connector won't add. Check the URL is exactly the one above, ending in
/api/mcp. - You asked it to connect Candly and it couldn't. Assistants can't add their own connectors — that is a setting on your account, not something the assistant can reach. Follow the steps above instead; it takes about four clicks.
- It says it has no Candly tools. The connector is added but switched off for that conversation. Open the + menu in the message box, choose Connectors, and turn Candly on.
- It connects, then every request fails. You are probably signed in to a different Candly account than the one you approved it on. Disconnect and reconnect while signed in to the right one.
- It worked and then stopped. Access ends if your subscription lapses or you disconnected it. Check Settings → Integrations.
- "Too many requests". Candly limits how fast a single account can be queried. Wait a minute and ask again.
